After years of rich EAA heritage in South Africa, we are delighted to share that Chapter 973 has officially re-established its home at Jack Taylor Airfield in Krugersdorp — now the central hub of EAA activity in the country.
This move marks the start of a fresh, dynamic chapter for South African aviation.
Our chapter hangar, situated perfectly beside the vibrant Krugersdorp Flying Clubhouse, offers a welcoming space where coffee and conversation never stop flowing.
Here, you’ll find the ideal setting for hands-on workshops, a well-organised tool crib, a library, educational sessions led by industry experts, and inspiring presentations by South Africa’s most respected aviation personalities.
It’s a place designed for learning, sharing, and celebrating the craft of flight.
Above all, EAA Chapter 973 is a social home — a community built for anyone who loves aviation, whether you’re a seasoned pilot, an aircraft builder, an aspiring flyer, or simply someone fascinated by the magic of flight. Our doors will be open on weekends for coffee, conversation, technical chats, and the pure pleasure of spending time with people who share the same passion.
We’re also thrilled to announce that Chapter 973 will host regular fly-ins and fly-aways in partnership with the Krugersdorp Flying Club. These adventures will not only broaden our horizons but also strengthen the friendships and camaraderie that define our flying community.
